HE revolving year again demands from us our customary, but hearty expreffions of gratitude to Subfcribers, Correfpondents, and Readers in general. While we feel a pleasure in fuch expreffions, we at the fame time acknowledge it our duty to accompany them with affurances that the Publication, which has now for a very long period been fo favourably received, fhall ftill continue to merit the fame patronage and encouragement-fo far as these can be deferved by the fame exertions, and a continuation of the Work upon the fame plan; we look forward therefore with a confiderable degree of confidence.

As both the plan and defign of the Publication have been fully laid before our Readers, in former addreffes, we shall not again repeat them here; it only remains to folicit a continuance of the liberal encouragement fo long beftowed on the SCOTS MAGAZINE, affuring our Subscribers and the Public, that the 59th volume, which we are about to commence, will not fall short of any that have gone before,
