CHAP. 1143.—An Act Granting a pension to William C. Hickox.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United William C. Hickox. States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of William C. Hickox, late of Company G, One hundred and fifty-second Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of sixteen dollars per month.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Levi H. Collins, late of Company A. Eighth Regiment, Michigan Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, June 21, 1902.

CHAP. 1145.—An Act Granting an increase of pension to Franklin Snyder.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Franklin Snyder, late of Company D, Eleventh Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, June 21, 1902.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Henry I. Smith, late of Company B, Seventh Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of forty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, June 21, 1902.

CHAP. 1147.—An Act Granting an increase of pension to Solomon P. Brockway.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Solomon P. Brockway, late major Ninth Regiment Michigan Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

CHAP. 1148.—An Act Granting a pension to Nelson Johnson.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Nelson Johnson, late of Company A, Third Regiment New York Volunteer Light Artillery, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month, the same to be paid to him under the rules of the Pension Bureau as to mode and time of payment, without any deduction or rebate on account of former alleged overpayments or erroneous payments of pension.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United [Private, No. 979.] States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pensions laws, the name of Wesley Brummett, late of Company F, Twentyseventh Regiment Missouri Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month, the same to be paid to him under the rules of the Pension Bureau as to mode and times of payment without any deduction or rebate on account of former alleged overpayments or erroneous payments of pension.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United [Private, No. 980.] States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Mary E. Culver, widow of Joshua B. Culver, late colonel Thirteenth Regiment Michigan Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month. Approved, June 21, 1902.

CHAP. 1152.-An Act To correct the record of Michael Hayes.

States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to correct the military record of Michael Hayes, late of Company H, Sixty-ninth New York Infantry Volunteers, and to grant him an honorable discharge from such organization and remove the charge of desertion standing against him as a member thereof: Provided, That no pay, bounty, or other emoluments shall become due or payable by virtue of this Act. Approved, June 23, 1902.

CHAP. 1153.-An Act For the relief of W. C. Taylor.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to W. C. Taylor, of Mobile, Alabama, the sum of two thousand dollars as compensation for the loss of the steel barge Ora, while in service of the Government during the late war with Spain, on a voyage between Mobile, Alabama, and Santiago de Cuba, said loss having been caused by defective and insufficient towlines and the absence of any crew on board the barge to look after her safety, all of which occurred without any fault on the part of the owner of said barge, the said W. C. Taylor, of Mobile, Alabama.

Thomas, late second lieutenant Company I, and first lieutenant and adjutant Fifth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Crosby, widow of Pierce Crosby, late rear-admiral, United States Navy, and pay her a pension at the rate of fifty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving. Approved, June 27, 1902.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of James E. McNair, late first lieutenant Company K, Sixth Regiment Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Sherman Langworthy, late of Company B, One hundred aud seventeenth Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

CHAP. 1167.-An Act Granting a pension to Isabella H. Irish.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Isabella H. Irish, widow of Joseph E. Irish, late post chaplain, United States Army, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month.
