CHAP. 1144.—An Act Granting an increase of pension to Callie West.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Callie West, widow of Burris C. West, late of Company G, Sixty-sixth Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

CHAP. 1145.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to Amanda Burke.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Amanda Burke, widow of Milo M. Burke, late of the United States steamship Henry James, United States Navy, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving: Provided, however, That in the event of the death of the helpless child Edith Burke, on whose account the pension of Amanda Burke is increased, the pension of said Amanda Burke shall continue only at the rate of eight dollars per month from and after the date of death of said helpless child.

Thomson, late of Company L, First Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry, war with Spain. Approved, March 3, 1903.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of John W. Day, late acting assistant paymaster, United States Navy, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Sullivan, late of Company H, Sixteenth Regiment Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Barger, widow of Harrison C. Barger, late second lieutenant Company D, Second Regiment Illinois Volunteer Light Artillery, and pay her a pension at the rate of fifteen dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

Stanwood, late first lieutenant Company C, Twentieth Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of seventeen dollars per month.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Margaret Bell, widow of James Bell, late of Company E, Seventh Regiment United States Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month, and two dollars per month additional on account of the minor child of said James Bell until he reaches the age of sixteen years. Garrison, late of Captains Ellis and Hendley's Companies of Florida Mounted Volunteers, Florida Indian war, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.
