Evening Prayer.

LORD, I cry unto thee; make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice when I cry unto thee: let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: keep the door of my lips. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength, (and "perfected praise.") What is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou visitest him? Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, Most High; to show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee. The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance, and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night-seasons. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases who redeemeth thy life from destruction: who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies: who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer.

OUR Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name: thy kingdom come: thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven: give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
