Isaiah vi. 13. “Yet in it (the land) shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil-tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them when they cast their leaves, so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof."

Isaiah xliv. 3-5. "I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground; I

will pour my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the watercourses. Isaiah xlv. 19. "I said not unto the seed of Jacob, seek ye me in vain."

Isaiah liv. 13. "And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children."

Isaiah lix. 21. "As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever."

Isaiah lxv. 22-24. "They shall not build and another inhabit, they shall not plant and another eat, for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble, for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass that before they call I will answer, and while they are yet speaking I will hear."

Malachi iv. 6.

"And he shall turn the heart

of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers."

GOD COMMANDS PARENTS

TO TEACH THEIR CHILDREN HIS WAYS,

AND

TO BRING THEM UP IN HIS FEAR.

EXODUS xii. 26, 27. "And it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you, What mean you by this service? that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover: who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses."

Deut. iv. 9, 10. "Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but teach them thy sons and thy sons' sons. Specially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in Horeb, when the Lord said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my word, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children."

Deut. vi. 5-9. "And thou shalt love the Lord

thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might; and these words which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shall talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thine house, and on thy gates." Deut. xi. 18-20.
