HAPPINESS.

This is a faithful Saying, and worthy of all Acceptation, that Chrift Jefus came into the World to fave Sinners.

The Son of Man came to feek and to fave that which was loft; that whofoever believeth in him fhould not perish, but have eternal Life. And if, when we were Enemies, we were reconciled to God by the Death of his Son; much more then, being now reconciled and juftified by his Blood, we thall be faved from Wrath-through him.

i God hath not appointed us to Wrath, but to obtain Salvation by our Lord Jefus Chrift; in whom believing, we rejoice with Joy unspeakable and full of Glory.

*He that fpared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, How fhall he not with him alfo freely give us all Things God fhall fupply all our Need, according to his Riches in Glory by Chrift Jefus.

God, the Father of our Lord Jefus Chrift, hath bleffed us with all fpiritual Bleffings in heavenly Places in Christ.

m Grace and Peace are multiplied unto us, through the Knowledge of God, and of Jefus our Lord; according as his Divine Power hath given unto us all Things that pertain unto Life and Godliness.

n We have been called unto Liberty; and now being made free from Sin, and become Servants to God, we shall be free indeed, having our Fruit unto Holiness, and the End everlasting Life.

If we take the Yoke of Chrift upon us, we fhall find Reft unto our Souls; for his Yoke is eafy, and his Burden is light; and his Commandments are not grievous.

P God is not unrighteous to forget our Work and Labour of Love, which we have fhewed towards his Name.

Our fpiritual Sacrifices are acceptable to God by Jefus Chrift. In whom we have Boldness and Accefs, with Confidence by the Faith of him. And whatfoever we shall ask of the Father in his Name, he will give it us.

If we keep the Commandments of Christ, we fhall abide in his Love; and we are his Friends, if we do whatsoever he commandeth us.

In the World we fhall have Tribulation; but Chrift hath overcome the World, that in him we might have Peace. And the God of all Grace, who hath called us unto his eternal Glory by Chrift Jefus, after that we have suffered a while here, will make us perfect, establish, strengthen, fettle us.

↑ God hath loved us, and hath given us everlafting Confolation and good Hope through Grace; which Hope we have as an Anchor of the Soul, both fure and stedfast.

God, who is rich in Mercy, for his great Love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in Sins, hath quickened us together with Chrift, and made us fit together in heavenly Places in Chrift Jefus.

W

He hath begotten us again unto a lively Hope, by the Refurrection of Jefus Chrift, to an Inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, referved in Heaven for us. For whom he juftifies, them he will alfo glorify. The Wages of Sin is Death; but the Gift of God is eternal Life, through Jefus Christ our Lord.

*He hath delivered us from the Power of Darkness, and hath tranflated us into the Kingdom of his dear Son; having made us meet to be Partakers of the Inheritance of the Saints in Light.

Jefus Chrift hath loved us, and washed us from our Sins in his own Blood; and hath made us Kings and Priefts unto God and his Father.

We are a chofen Generation, a royal Prieft hood, an holy Nation, a peculiar People, which in Time paft were not a People, but are now the People of God; which had not obtained Mercy, but now have obtained Mercy. We are come unto Mount Sion, and unto the City of the living God, the heavenly Jerufalem, and to an innumerable Company of Angels, to the general Affembly and Church of the First-born, which are written in Heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the Spirits of juft Men made perfect, and to Jefus the Mediator of the new Covenant, and

to the Blood of Sprinkling, that fpeaketh better Things than that of Abel.

a Behold what manner of Love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God; and if Sons then Heirs, Heirs of God, and Joint-heirs with Chrift. Now we are the Sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when he shall appear, we fhall be like him; for we shall fee him as he is; and with open Face beholding, as in a Glafs, the Glory of the Lord, fhall be changed into the fame Image from Glory to Glory.

b All Things are to be counted but Lofs and Dung, that we may win Chrift; for to die and to be with Chrift, is Gain.

Who fhall feparate us from the Love of God? Shall Tribulation, or Distress, or Perfecution, or Famine, or Nakedness, or Peril, or Sword? Nay, in all thefe Things we are more than Conquerors, through him that loved us: So that neither Death, nor Life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor Things prefent, nor Things to come, norHeight, nor Depth, nor any other Creature, fhall be able to feparate us from the Love of God, which is in Chrift Jefus our Lord.

This is that great Salvation, and this is the Fulness of the Bleffing of the Gofpel of Chrift; of which the Prophets inquired and fearched diligently; and which was preached unto us by the Apoftles of Chrift, with the Holy Ghoft fent down

from Heaven; which Things the Angels defired to look into.

• Ask now of the Days that are past, which were before thee, fince the Day that God created Man upon the Earth; and afk from the one Side of the Heaven to the other, Whether there hath been any fuch Thing as this great Thing is, or hath been heard like it.

Seeing then that all these Things were for our Sakes, what Manner of Men ought we to be in all holy Converfation and Godliness? For if we fin wilfully, after that we have received the Knowledge of the Truth, and turn away from him that speaketh from Heaven, there remaineth no more Sacrifice for Sins; but a certain fearful looking for of Judgment, and fiery Indignation.
