do. Fear him who, after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell.

Blessed are those servants whom the Lord, when he cometh, shall find watching. That servant who knew his Lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required. God is not a God of the dead, but of the living, for all live unto him.

JOHN.

God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Go, and sin no more.

Whosoever committeth sin is the servant

of sin.

Jesus said, A new commandment I give unto you: Love one another as I have loved you. If ye love me, keep my commandments. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him.

THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES.

Repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

God is no respecter of persons; but in every nation, he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted of him.

What God hath cleansed, that call not thou unclean.

Why should it be thought a thing impossible with you, that God should raise the dead? I, Paul, continue, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and

Moses did say should come: that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people.

THE EPISTLE TO THE ROMANS.

:

God will render to every man according to his deeds to them who by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory, and honour, and immortality, eternal life; but unto them who are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man; for there is no respect of persons with God.

The wages of sin is death.

If

ye

live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye, through the Spirit, do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

We know that all things work together for good to them that love God.

Let not any man think of himself more highly than he ought to think.

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Be kindly affectioned one to another.
Be not slothful in business.

Be fervent in spirit; serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer, distributing to the necessity of saints, given to hospitality.

12

Bless them who persecute you; bless, and curse not.

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Mind not high things, but condescend

to men of low estate.

12 The converts to Christianity-the brethren.

D

Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath.

If thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let every soul be subject to the higher powers. Render, therefore, to all their dues.

Owe no man anything, but love one another. For this-Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
