understand, but the wise shall understand. And from the time the daily sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, will be 1,290 days. Blessed is he that cometh to the 1,335 days." Now the setting up of the abomination took place in 727 when the senate of Rome made the Bishop of Rome temporal PrinceEmperor, and the church ecclesiastical took the SEAT of SATAN. Therefore, from that date, count Daniel's 1,290 years—each day a year, for the end of the wonders-the run of the world, and also the 1,335 years, will bring you to the 45 years, in the seventhousandth year; that is-to 6,045 years from Adam-then all will be in a blessed condition.

The Savior said the days would be shortened. Now, John shortens the days to 1,987, and no further can the world run. Then the destruction must come. And may be, much shorter, if wickedness continues to increase as it now is doing.

THAT WHICH IS TO COME.

THE BOOK WITH SEVEN SEALS.-After John gives the condition and outcome of the seven churches of Asia, he saw a throne and "out of which proceeded lightning, thunderings and voices; and seven lamps which are the seven spirits of God; and in the midst of the throne and round about it were four beasts full of eyes; before and behind. The first like a lion, the second like a calf, the third had the face of a man; and the

fourth like a flying eagle.' A full representation of the creation, as those four, stand at the head of all animation, at the four points of the compass; and continu

ally cry holiness to the Lord God Almighty who was and is to come.

There was a book in the hand of him who sat upon the throne, sealed with seven seals; the contents of which represents the prosperity and adversity of the Gentile church, in its course through the world.

The opening of the first seal presented a white horse and one sitting on it having a bow and a crown, and he went forth conquering and to conquer; which is a representation of the Ephesian church, in the zeal of the Apostles in the spread of the Gospel. "And when the second seal was opened, I beheld a red horse, and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth; that they should kill one another; and there was given unto him a great sword."

This red horse and rider represented the condition of the ministry of the Smyrnian church, their dissension, and particularly the ten bloody persecutions through which she passed for two hundred years, by the pagan emperors of Rome, in which three millions of her number were martyred. "At the opening of the third seal, a black horse came forth, and he that sat thereon

had a pair of balances in his hand."

The black horse and rider represented the raising of the church and ministry to the clemency of the imperial court by Constantine, in 325 years. The balances, weighing the wheat and barley, shows the high estimation of the gospel and its nominal votaries. The oil and wine were the living part of the church who were not to be destroyed for their profession and holy living.

On opening the fourth seal, "a pale horse, and death sat upon him, and hell followed with them; and power was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword, hunger, death, and with beasts of the earth."

This state of things commenced with the ministry of the church, when taking the Imperial throne of the dragon and of his authority to kill and devour as he had done. And this state of things was to continue 1260 years, in which time they would martyr sixty millions of their humble members and others who would disagree or not follow their ways.

The fourth part of the earth means Eu

that their time of running as nations should be no longer than the FORTY-TWO MONTHS, 1260 years, from the TIME of the healing of the wound of the Dragon-commencing of which was the seventh form of his government, which was in 727, when the imperial seat was brought back to Rome from Ravana, by the feet of iron and clay.

Near the close of these governments, the concentration of the three forces of Satan will do their best in putting down the cause of God, by slaying the two witnesses-the old and new testament-King James' translation. The three years and a half of the dragonic kingdom, equals 1260 days, each day for a year, and this equals the forty-two months-and at the close of which Mystic Babylon will fall.
