THANKSGIVING FOR CHRISTIAN ORDINANCES, ESPECIALLY THE MORE SOLEMN ORDINANCES,

FOR SEASONS OF DEVOUT RETIREMENT,-AND FOR ACCESS TO THE THRONE OF GRACE.

PSALM civ. 34. My meditation of him shall be sweet; I will be glad in the Lord.

Psalm lxv. 4. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee.

REFLECTION.

THE season has again returned, when, by the favour of Divine Providence, I am permitted to renew my baptismal engagement, and to commemorate the dying love of that Saviour who gave his life for the sins of men.

It is a season when I am permitted and exhorted to retire from the bustle of life, that I may
