THE GENERAL EPISTLE OF

JUDE.

*(1) 'JUDAS, a' 1servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are called, 'beloved in' God the Father, 2 and kept for Jesus Christ: Mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied.

3) Beloved, while I 'was giving' all diligence to write unto you of 'our' common salvation, I was Iconstrained' to write unto you 'exhorting! you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto *(4) the saints. For there are certain men crept in privily, even they who were of old 'set forth unto this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5

Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things! once for all, how that the Lord, having saved 'a' people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that (6 believed not. And angels which kept not their own principality', but left their 'proper' habitation, he hath 'kept' in everlasting 'bonds under darkness unto the judgement of the great day. 7 °Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, 'having in like manner with these given themselves over to fornication, and gone after strange flesh, are set forth las an example, suffering the punishment! 8) of eternal fire. Yet in like manner! these also in their dreamings' defile the flesh, and set at nought dominion, 9 and rail at dignities. But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him

a railing judgement', but said, The 10 Lord rebuke thee. But these 'rail at whatsoever things they know not: land' what they understand' naturally, like the creatures without reason', in these things are they destroyed!. 11 Woe unto them! for they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire', and perished in the gainsaying of Korah'. (12) These are they who are 10hidden rocks' in your love-feasts' when they feast with you, 'shepherds that without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn' trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13) wild waves of the sea, foaming out

their own shame; wandering stars, Ifor whom the blackness of darkness 14) hath been reserved for ever. And Ito these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with 12ten thou(15 sands of his holy ones', to execute judgement upon all, and to 'convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly Iwrought', and of all 'the' hard 'things' which ungodly sinners have spoken (16 against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaketh great swelling words), 'shewing respect of1 persons for the sake of advantage.

17

But 'ye, beloved, remember ye the words which have been' spoken before by the apostles of our Lord 18) Jesus Christ; how that they 'said to you, In the last time there shall be mockers, walking' after 18their own 19 ungodly lusts. These 'arel they who

THE REVELATION

OF S. JOHN THE DIVINE.

THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to shew unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified it by his angel unto 2 his servant John; °who bare 'witness' of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, even of all 3 things that he saw. "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

JOHN to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him which is and which was and which is to come;

Spirits which are (5 and from Jesus

and from the seven before his throne; Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn' of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that 'loveth us, and loosed us from our sins 10 by *6) his blood; and 'he' made us to be a kingdom, to be priests unto his God and Father; to him be the glory and 'the dominion for ever and ever. I John, your brother and 'partaker with you in 'the' tribulation and kingdom and patience which are in' Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony 10 of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the

Lord's day, and I heard behind me (11 a great voice, as of a trumpet saying, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, 12 and unto Laodicea. And I turned to see the voice which spake with me. And having turned I saw seven *(13 golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the 15candlesticks one like unto 16a son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breasts with a golden (14) girdle. 21 To the angel of the church in Ephesus write;

These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, 'he that' walketh in the midst of the seven (2 golden candlesticks: I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil Imen', and 'didst try them which 'call themselves apostles, and they are (3) not, and 'didst find' them 'false'; and 'thou hast patience and 'didst bear1 for my name's sake, and hast not 4 grown weary. And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write;

Fear Inot the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee 11 the crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith Ito the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write;

These things saith he that hath (13 the sharp two-ledged sword: I know where thou dwellest, even where Satan's thronel is: and thou holdest fast my name, and 'didst not deny! my faith, even in the days 10lof Antipas my 'witness, my faithful 'one', who was 'killed' among you, where 14 Satan dwelleth. But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there some that hold the Iteaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed ito! 15 idols, and to commit fornication. So

hast thou also some that hold the 'teaching of the Nicolaitans in like (16 manner. Repent therefore'; or

else I come to thee quickly, and I' will make war against them with the (17 sword of my mouth. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
