Seite 5 - Chairman and members of the committee, the Foreign Service buildings program was initiated in 1926 with the enactment of Public Law 186, 69th Congress. This act authorized the Secretary of State to acquire buildings and grounds in foreign countries for the use of the consular and diplomatic establishments of the United States and other agencies of the Government.
