THE TEMPEST. WITH INTRODUCTION, FULL TEXT AND NOTES, INDEX TO NOTES. BY C. W. CROOK, B.A., B.Sc., HEAD MASTER OF THE HIGHER GRADE SCHOOL, WOOD GREEN, N.; EDITOR OF London: RALPH, HOLLAND & CO. TEMPLE CHAMBERS, E.C. 1906. PREFACE. WE have again to express our thanks to Messrs. Macmillan & Co. for their kind permission to use the Globe text for this edition of The Tempest. As in the plays previously produced, every effort has been made to give the student every necessary help without introducing or discussing matter merely controversial, and without depriving him of the necessity for using individual judgment. The system of heading the pages with the Act and Scene, and of numbering the lines as far as possible in fives, has proved so advantageous in Macbeth that it has been continued in the present edition.
