ENGRAVINGS. We shall present an engraving in every other number through the year, executed at much expense. The likeness of Mr. Pleasants, of Virginia, has been furnished by his friends, and is being engraved for the March No. An engraving of Hon. Mr. Berrien will appear in May. In addition, the likeness of Gen. Scott will be given next month (February), as an extra embellishment. It is due to ourselves to say, that during the past year, including the present month, many hindrances, connected with our political articles, our engravings, or the crowded state of the presses of our printer, have several times prevented the prompt appearance of our Journal. We can now say, that all these difficulties are removed; and no No. shall hereafter be dejayed beyond the first of the month. An entire new font of type has been procured for the Review-we trust to the satisfaction of our readers. THE WRITINGS AND LITERARY CHARACTER OF R. H. DANA, Edward O. Jenkins, Printer, 114 Nassau street. |
