[An operetta suitable for church or school entertainments. Used as a whole it will occupy the entire evening. The number of children in each chorus depends upon the strength of the voices. Each chorus is complete in itself and may be given alone as an entertainment.]

SNOWDROP CHORUS:

CHARACTERS AND COSTUMES.

CHARACTERS: The smallest children.

COSTUMES: Long white nightgowns, white stockings and slippers, white lace or mull caps tied in front with large bows. VIOLET CHORUS:

CHARACTERS: An even number of girls arranged on the stage in a row of alternating colors.

COSTUMES: Half the girls represent white violets, and are gowned in white dresses, slippers and stockings, caps of white tissue paper shaped like violets, tied under the chin with green paper sings. The other half of the girls represent purple violets, gowned in pale purple and wearing slippers and stockings of black.

FORGET-ME-NOTS:

CHARACTERS: Small girls with blue eyes.

COSTUMES: Pale blue gowns, a bunch of forget-me-nots in the hair, or a bow of pale blue ribbon, hair worn loose and flowing. Each girl carries a small bunch of real or artificial forget-menots in the hand.

*Five of the songs used in this operetta were published originally in the Primary School ("Welcome to June" and "The Daisy's Secret"); and in Primary Education ("Just Waking Up," "Sweet Violets," and "Guess"). These pieces have been used with special permission of the publishers.
