Whatever moral may be attached to this piece, it is certainly replete with humour and interest; and the whole farce is very popular and 'iverting. It is an alteration, by Garrick, from Shakspe Taming the Shrew, and is reckoned the most regular and perfect drama that has ever been formed from that origin by inverting and transposing its different parts, and reduci. he whole into a regular piece. The judgment wherewith thi..3 executed, and the valuable use Mr. Garrick made of Shakespere, from whom he neither deviated, and to whom he made no addition, did great honour to his understanding and knowledge of theatrical conduct; and has rendered a comedy, which, from the many absurdities mingled with its numerous beauties, had long been thrown aside, one of themost entertaining dramas of the present day.

To draw in customers our bills are spread,
You cannot miss the sign-'tis Shakspear's Head.

For different palates springs a different wine!
In which no tricks, to strengthen, or to thin'em-
Neat as imported-no French brandy in 'em---
Hence for the choicest spirits flow champaign;
Whose sparkling atoms shoot thro' every vein,
Then mount in magic vapours to th' enraptur'd
brain!

Hence flow for martial minds potations strong;
And sweet love potions for the fair and young.
For you, my Hearts of Oak, for your regale,
There's good old English stingo, mild and stale.
[To the upper gallery.
For high luxurous souls, with luscious smack,
There's Sir John Falstaff is a butt of sack:
