The DIRECTORS beg to remind Persons whose Policies expire at CHRISTMAS, that their payments should be made within fifteen days from that period, at the Company's House, in CHANGE ALLEY, CORNHILL; or to some one of the Company's RESIDENTS in the Country.

Among other advantages, it will appear by the Company's Proposals,

that no charge is made for Policies, or Indorsements;

that a large and unprecedented Commission is allowed on Insurances on Lives;

that Life Insurances are not attended with admission fees, nor with any responsibility, on the part of the person insuring, to make good the losses of others;

and that a considerable deduction is made on the Premiums of Fire Insur

ances OUT OF LONDON, whether effected at the Company's principal Office, or with any of its Country Residents.

Including Racing, Coursing, Shooting, Hunting, Hawking, Cocking, Fowling, Fishing, Sailing, Cricketing, Fencing, Ang ling, Duelling, Horsemanship, Farriery, Pugilism, Card-playing, Draughts, Pedestrian Exercises, Archery, Backgammon, Chess, Billiards, &c. &c. together with such other Occurrences as are entitled to the At tention of the Sporting Gentleman.

In this Work, besides the uniform Selection of interesting articles, upon the above and other subjects, two Copper-plates are given every month, with engraved Title-pages, &c. for each volume. Six Num. bers comprise a Volume; 28 Volumes were completed on the 1st day of October 1806; the 29th will be finished by the 31st of March 1807.

The number of Copper-plates that have been given in this Work, amount to between three and four hundred, nearly all on Sport. ing subjects.

The present Lord Chancellor Erskine, when at the bar, and pleading a cause, said,

that "a little mirth was good in these dull times." Those who read the Sporting Magazine (whether sportsmen or not) will find plenty to excite mirth, and with no small portion of information and amusement. "Whenever I am low-spirited," said a gentleman rather given to ennui, “I take down a volume of the Sporting Magazine, in which I am sure to find something to make me laugh, or at least to amuse and drive away the care with which my spirits were oppressed."

The Property of W. H. LUNN, Importer of Greek and Latin Books: Amongst them are, several in the Infancy of the typographical Art, and the best esteemed ancient and modern Editions of the Classics. Comprehending one of the most general Collections of Authors in the learned Languages that was ever exhibited for public Sale. They have been principally imported, at an unbounded Expense, from various Parts of the Continent. Some of them are most splendidly bound in Morocco, Turkey, and Russia Leather, by Kalthoeber, Hering, Staggemeier, Lewis, Walther, &c.

A liberal deduction from the prices affixed in the Catalogue will be made upon

large purchases; but the whole will be sold for ready money, without any exception. Animus si æquus, quod petis hic est.

Catalogues may be had as above; and of Mr. BARRETT, Bookseller, Cambridge; where may be seen a Collection of the best foreign Editions of the Greek and Latin Classics, which, being the property of W. H. LUNN, are sold precisely on the same terms as at his Establishment in Soho Square.

W. H. LUNN has just imported many valuable Books from Germany, France, and Holland; but on account of all communication being stopped with the Continent, it will shortly be out of his power to supply the Public with articles now in his possession.
