MY LORD, I have humbly and diligently endeavoured, in the following pages, to enforce the Evidences of the Necessity and Reality of an Inspired Religion; and I hope the presumption may not be deemed wholly unpardonable with which I solicit permission to distinguish a Work on such a subject, by inscribing it to Your Grace.
