IF ye then be risen with Christ, seek which are above, where Christ right hand of God.

BURY my dead faith in thy tomb!
Wake me with thee to life!

those things sitteth on the COL. iii. I.

Bid me, my King, gird on my sword,
And never quit the strife,

Till in thy strength, my warfare past,
Thou call'st my soul to thee,

On "through the grave and gate of death"
To endless victory.

WE give thee thanks, O God the Father, who hast de

livered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of thy Son: grant therefore, we pray thee, that as by his death he has recalled us to life, he may raise us up in his love to joys eternal, for his sake who is the Resurrection and the Life, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BUT unto you that fear my name, shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings. MAL. iv. 2.

THE sunlight takes the hue

Of whatsoever shade it shineth through,
Crimson or blue :

And thus we find

The one great Light, which lighteth all mankind,
Taketh a varied coloring from each mind.

A. E. H.

LIGHT of light, O Brightness indescribable, Christ our God, who having overcome the prince of darkness, didst return to thy throne on high, grant to us thy suppliants, amid this dark world, the full outpouring of thy splendor, and at last admit us to a place at thy right hand, for thine own blessed Name's sake. Amen.

AND let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. GAL. vi. 9.

THERE is, in every human heart,
Some not completely barren part,

Where seeds of love and truth might grow,
And flowers of generous virtue blow;

To plant, to watch, to water these,
This be our duty, this our care!

MERCIFUL Jesus, make speed to aid thy servants who are assaulted by manifold temptations; and as thou knowest their several infirmities, let each one find thee mighty to save, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

BEHOLD! I stand at the door and knock.

REV. iii. 20.

O PATIENT hand!

Knocking and waiting –

Open, O happy young, ere yet the hand
Of him that knocks, wearied at last, forbear,
The patient foot its thankless quest, refrain,
The wounded heart for evermore withdraw!
JEAN INGELOW.

ECEIVE us, O Lord, as thou hast promised by thy well beloved Son: that we may come at last into the eternal kingdom which thou hast promised, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LORD, increase our faith.

LUKE xvii. 5.

OUR little systems have their day;
They have their day and cease to be;
They are but broken lights of thee,
And thou, O Lord, art more than they.

We have but faith; we cannot know;
For knowledge is of things we see ;
And yet we trust it comes from thee;
A beam in darkness: let it grow.

TENNYSON.

STRENGTHEN our faith, O Jesus, that we may look to thee as the Life, the Truth, and the Way: give us an unwavering trust in thee, that our souls may be forever enlightened by thy heavenly light. Amen.
