WE

bless thee, Almighty God, that thou hast overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life, through thine only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

ABLE to comprehend with all saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge. EPH. iii. 18, 19.

LOVE, lift me up upon thy golden wings
From this base world unto thy heavenly height,
Where I may see those admirable things
Which there thou workest by thy sovereign might,
Far above feeble reach of earthly sight;
That I thereof an heavenly hymn may sing
Unto the God of love, high heaven's king.

SPENSER.

WE praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great love to us, O God, in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

HE will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. ISAIAH XXX. 19.

LET prayer

Be to thee as the sunshine of thy soul,
Falling upon thee with the early morn,
Lightening it sweetly with the eventide :
As sunrise and sunset

Do gild the tops of mountains.

A. E. H.

LET thy merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of thy humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions make them to ask such things as shall please thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE lips of the righteous feed many : the tongue of the just is as choice silver.

PROV. X. 21, 20.

WHAT shall be our word for Jesus? Master, give it day by day;

Even as the need arises, teach thy children what to say. Give us holy love and patience: grant us deep humility, That of self we may be emptied, and our hearts be full of thee.

F. R. HAVergal.

LORD, open thou our lips and our mouth shall show forth thy praise. We ask it for Christ's sake.

Amen.

FOR he is our peace.

EPH. ii. 14.

How beautiful within our souls to keep
This treasure the All Merciful hath given;
To feel, when we awake, and when we sleep,
Its incense 'round us like a breeze from heaven.
Quiet at hearth and home,

Where the heart's joys begin;

Quiet where'er we roam,

Quiet around, within.

HYMNS OF THE AGES.

LORD, let thy mercy be upon us as our trust is in

thee.

O Lord, in thee I have trusted; let me never be confounded. Amen.
