THE Lord stood with me and strengthened me.

2 TIM. iv. 17.

OUR Saviour of Cyrene, Lord, thou art;
Thou dost take up and bear

The cross of care,

Which lies so sorely on the scourged heart;
And we must also be

Cross-bearers after thee.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

AND I said, it is mine own infirmity; but I will remember the years of the right hand of the PSALM lxxvii. 10.

I SEE not a step before me as I tread on another year, But the past is still in God's keeping, the future his mercy shall clear:

And what looks dark in the distance may brighten as I draw near.

GOD, whose nature and property is always to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of thy great mercy loose us, for the honor of Jesus Christ, our mediator and advocate. Amen.

:

OFFER unto thee, my God, my thoughts, that they may be towards thee: my words, that they may be of thee my deeds, that they may be according to thee. By thy wisdom do thou direct me; by thy righteousness do thou keep me; by thy sweet mercy do thou comfort and protect me, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

REJOICING, O Lord, in the richness of thy gifts to us, we pray thee to help us to give unto our fellowmortals such sympathy and kindly love as may lighten their afflictions, for the merciful Jesus' sake. Amen.

THOU shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. ISAIAH lxii. 2, 3.

OH fill me with thy fulness, Lord,
Until my very heart o'erflow,

In kindling thought and glowing word,
Thy love to tell, thy praise to show.
Oh use me, Lord, use even me,

Just as thou wilt, and when and where :

GRANT, we beseech thee, almighty and merciful God, that the Holy Ghost may come upon us, and by his gracious indwelling, may make us a temple of his glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
