Deut. xxviii, 66, 67. And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. Thou prey upon thee will I give for a Jer. xxxi, 8, 9. Behold, I will Ezek. xi, 17, 18. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. Isa. Ixvi, 10. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her. Jer. ill, 7, 18. And I said, after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me: but she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers. Jer. xxiii, 3. And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. Jer. xxx, 16, 20. Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that more at all. Ezek. xxxvii, 8. After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into Ezek. xx, 41, 42. The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the King of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not, and to Zion. Let not thine hands be slack. The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD. Zech. 11, 4, 6. 7, 11. And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Pabylon. And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. Zech. vill, 7, 8, 22, 23. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country: And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness. Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold, out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we have heard that God is with you. Zech. xii, 7. The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David, and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, do not magnify themselves against Judah. the Zech. xiv,10,11,13,14. All the land shall be turned as a plain, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the band of his neighbour. And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. Mal. iii, 12. And all nations shall call you blessed; for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts. PROPHECIES HAVING SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE GENTILES AS SUCCESSORS TO THE JEWS IN SPIRITUAL PRIVILEGE give thee the heathen for thine Ps. ii. 8. Ask of me, and I shall inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. world shall remember, and turn Ps. xxii, 27. All the ends of the unto the LORD; and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. pass in the last days, that the Isa. ii, 2, 3. In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof, and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old. Micah iv, 1, 2. But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. APPLICATION AND FULFILMENT OF THOSE PROPHECIES. Matth. xii, 17, 18. But glory, honour, Rom. iii, 29. 1s he the God of the Matth. iii, 9. And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say Rom. ix, 25, 26, 30-32. As he saith anto you, that God is able of these i also in Osee, I will call them my Rom. xv, 9-12, 21. And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. And again Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see; and they that have not heard shall under stand. 1 Cor. 1, 24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 2 Cor. iii, 8-11. How shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that more that which remaineth is excelleth. For if that which is done away as glorious, much glorious. Gal. iii, 14, 28, 29. That the blessthe Gentiles through Jesus Christ; ing of Abraham might come on that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. There is neither Jew nor Geek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal. iv, 30, 31. Nevertheless, what saith the scripture? Cast out the bond woman and her son: for the son of the bond woman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bond woman, but of the free. Eph. iii, 5, 6. Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now re vealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel. Heb. vii, 12, 18. For the priest hood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before, for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. Heb. xi, 39, 40. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided Some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. prayers. Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Acts xiv, 1. And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews; and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed. Acts xv, 8, 9. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Acts xxi, 20-22. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city. against Paul and Barnabas, and persecution expelled them out of their coasts. and raised Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and Acts xiv, 2. But the unbelieving made their minds evil affected against the brethren. Acts xvii, 5. But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgmentseat, Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law. Acts xxvi, 19--21. Whereupon, king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. Acts xxviii, 25-29. And when themselves, they departed, after they [the Jews] agreed not among that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
