Besides his success in business enterprises, he was also fortunate in his domestic relations. The young woman whom he wooed, won, and married was blessed with good health and good common sense, and also endowed with a kind heart. As these are the three qualities a woman must possess in order to be a helpmate to her husband, Peter Bismanda's wife was a helpmate to him, instead of a hindrance, in the achievement of success, crowned with happiness. His love for her grew stronger day by day, and it was his innermost hope and prayer to prove himself worthy of her love and devotion. They were a happy couple, and their happiness was increased by the birth of a daughter, whom they named Adele. The child was exceptionally beautiful and of great intellectual prom ise, and they hoped that Adele would soon have a brother. A few years later a son was born to them, but both the son and the mother died at the birth. This occurrence saddened the life 'of the bereaved hus band and he mourned his irreparable loss deeply. He remained a widower, as he firmly believed there was not another woman in the whole world like his de parted Marsena.
