THE following Lectures were delivered from very short notes, and taken down by a Reporter; and therefore, though the Report is full and faithful to an extent truly surprising, yet the defects of extemporaneous language must be too apparent. Those who feel the urgent importance of the subjects handled, will pardon the imperfections of the style; and those who prefer to have an opportunity of writing smart criticisms upon the Lecturer, will find plenty of scope for that kind of labour. All I ask is, a perusal of the arguments and illustrations, without the use of Church or Dissent, Intrusion, or Non-Intrusion spectacles; and, if this be possible, as I hope it is, even "The Watchman" may yet see some good thing" in them, on a 66 second perusal.
