Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Navy be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to remove the discharge. charge of desertion now standing against the name of Thomas Cordingly, a seaman, charged with desertion from the United States steamship Flag and Vermont April twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and sixty-five: And the Secretary of the Navy is authorized to issue to him a certificate of honorable discharge from the Navy. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to remove the charge of removed. desertion now borne on the records of the War Department against Jacob Bowman, of Company K, Sixty-third Regiment Indiana Infantry Volunteers, and substitute therefor the words "Discharged December second, eighteen hundred and sixty-two:" Provided, That no pay, bounty, or other emoluments shall accrue by virtue of this Act.
