CHAP. 309.-An Act Granting an increase of pension to Hannah E. James.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Hannah E. James, widow of Charles C. James, late of Company K. Thirty-sixth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and imitations of the pension laws, the name of Lyman Hotaling, late of Company L, Fourth Regiment Iowa Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Daniel Dougherty. States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Daniel Dougherty, late of Company D, Fifth Regiment Delaware Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United William H. Durham. States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of William H. Durham, helpless and dependent child of Tolford Durham, late of Company A, Fourth Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

laws, the name of George W. Berry, late of Company H, One hundred and sixtieth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Sampson, late of Company G, Forty-ninth Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

Burford, late of Company B, Twentysixth Regiment Enrolled Missouri Militia, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

Burton, late second lieutenant Company I, Thirty-fifth Regiment United States Colored Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of fifty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Dicey Woodall, widow of William W. Woodall, late of Captain John Padget's company of Florida Volunteers, Florida Indian war, and pay her a pension at the rate of eight dollars per month.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United [Private, No. 20.] States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Sarah E. Morrow, widow of James Morrow, late of Company B, Twelfth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, and pay her a pension at the rate of seventeen dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving, and two dollars per month additional on account of the minor child of said James Morrow until it reaches the age of sixteen years.

CHAP. 330.-An Act For the relief of Flora A. Darling.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Mrs. Flora A. Darling, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of five thousand six hundred and eighty-three dollars, in full satisfaction of all claims growing out of her arrest, imprisonment, and the seizure of her property by military authority at the city of New Orleans, in January, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, while on a flag-of-truce boat under protection of a safe-conduct given her by Major-General N. P. Banks, then commanding the Department of the Gulf.
