ECAUSE Mr. Walsh came there with King and Conftitution upon his buttons, you chose to say that you thought he was a spy, was that so?

A. That was not the reason, because he had the King and Conftitution upon his buttons, for that might have been put on.

2. Well, feeing him there with King and Conftitution on his buttons, you chofe to fay, that you thought he was a spy from the Treasury?

A. No.

2. Then do tell me how the fact is ?

A. The fact is, I was applied to by two or three to know if I knew Mr. Walsh, I faid yes, and he was pointed out to me; I faid that is Mr. Walsh, certainly; fomebody made anfwer, who I cannot fay, he is just come from Ireland, where he has been upon fome Government business; I was asked if I knew any thing of his being employed by Government, I faid immediately, I do believe he is.

2. Did not you fay you believed he was a spy?

A. I do not think I did.

2. Will you fwear you did not fay, that you believed he was a spy?
