FOR with thee is the fountain of life in thy

light shall we see light.

PSALM XXXVI. 9.

O HOLY SPIRIT, fount of breath,
Whose comforts never fail nor fade,
Vouchsafe the life that knows no death,
Vouchsafe the light that knows no shade:
And grant that we through all our days,
May share thy gifts, and sing thy praise.

BE thou, O God, our protection, and watch over our paths with guiding love: that among the snares which lie hidden in our paths, we may so pass onward with hearts fixed on thee, that we may come to be forever with thee: we ask it for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

BUT rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. I PETER iv. 13.

O THOU who art our life,

Be with us through the strife!

Thy own meek head by wildest storms was bowed!
Raise then our eyes above :

To see a Father's love

Beam like a bow of promise, through the cloud.

S. E. MILES.

JESUS, my adorable Saviour, behold me prostrate at thy feet, imploring thy mercy. Grant that while I follow thee along the way of sorrows, my heart may be so touched with true contrition, that I may be willing to accept cheerfully for thy sake, all the sufferings of this thy pilgrimage on earth. Amen.

TAKE my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart. MATT. xi. 29.

MEEK Jesus, to my soul thy spirit lending,
Teach me to live, like thee, in lowly love;
With humblest service all thy saints befriending,
Until I serve before thy throne above.

GEORGE W. BETHUNE.

BLESSED SAVIOUR, give us grace to follow thee in all meekness and humility, remembering that thou dost ever bid us to love our neighbor as ourselves; thus may we be made like unto thee, who ever livest and reignest, one God, world without end. Amen.

AND we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.

ROM. viii. 28.

I LOVE to think that God appoints

My portion day by day;

Events of life are in his hand,

And I would only say,

Appoint them in thine own good time,

And in thine own best way.

A. L. WARING.

LORD GOD, I give unto thee my body, soul, and spirit to be thine forever, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, in fulness and in want, in life and in death. Use me for thyself and for the glory of thy blessed Name. I am not mine own, but thine, therefore claim me as thy right, keep me as thy charge, love me as thy child, for my Redeemer's sake. Amen.

FOR he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor

forsake thee.

HEB. xiii. 5.

OH, what a well of comfort springs
From faith, to look on earthly things
With calm, untroubled eye!
How rich the heart when it can go
In every change and chance below,
And say, Thou, Lord, art nigh!

INFINITE GOODNESS! I thank thee from my inmost heart for all thy blessings which thou hast so bountifully bestowed upon me, who am so unworthy : give me such trust in thee, that I may ever feel thee at hand to guide and to strengthen me, for my Saviour's sake. Amen.
