IN SWITZERLAND. BEING SOME THOUGHTS ON "WHAT THE SPIRIT SAITH UNTO THE CHURCHES." BY REV. A. H. HERBERT PALMER, B.A. (Sometime English Chaplain at Thun.) "Then fearless walk we forth, Yet full of trembling, messengers of God: Our warrant sure, but doubting of our worth, London: WILLIAM HUNT AND COMPANY, 12, PATERNOSTER ROW. FOREWORD. HE substance THE of these Lectures was preached during my brief tenure of an important foreign chaplaincy. The subject treated of was chosen, after much thought, as one likely, under God's favour, to have special significance and profit for a pretty large English-speaking congregation, gathered together from many "Churches." To myself (with my dear wife) it was a happy embassy for Christ. That He, by His Holy Spirit, may make it a useful one, and bless the ill-told message to His own glory,-to the everlasting benefit of those who heard it then, and of those who read it now at greater length, is our earnest wish, our fervent prayer.
